The UGM eSports Student Activity Unit, in collaboration with ASUS Indonesia, organized ASUS Campus Organization (ACO) Goes to UGM from Sep. 22 to 26 at the Faculty of Law (FH UGM) and the Faculty of Philosophy (Philosophy UGM).
The program provided UGM students not only with training in IT, management, and business but also with the opportunity to exchange experiences about working in multinational companies.
Chair of UGM eSports, Septyan, explained that the ACO Goes to UGM seminar was held on Sep. 24 to 25 at the Auditorium of Building B, FH UGM.
Open to the public, the seminar explored two themes related to artificial intelligence (AI) and technology: “Mastering AI Creation” and “Unlock Your Next Level.”
On this occasion, Event Marketing ASUS Indonesia representative Ernest Immanuel announced internship opportunities at ASUS Indonesia specifically for UGM students, who would even receive priority access through a dedicated submission website.
“ACO is an initiative that combines product introductions, seminars, and opportunities for collaboration between universities and the technology industry, particularly in the laptop sector,” Septyan said on Monday (Sep. 29).
Content creator Sepriansyah shared insights on the increasingly advanced and efficient capabilities of AI in assisting human work, while emphasizing that AI does not equate to human understanding.
He demonstrated various AI models, from Large Language Models (LLMs) to Diffusion models capable of generating images and creating visual designs.
“AI only processes and transforms words into numbers,” he explained.
Sepriansyah also underlined the importance of understanding AI more deeply.
“AI will not replace humans. But humans who do not understand AI will be replaced by those who do,” he remarked.
The seminar also featured Andre Raymond Saputra, better known as RRQ Banana, a former professional eSports player and member of the RRQ Hoshi team who debuted in MPL Season 11 in 2023.
Saputra shared his journey as a professional eSports athlete, particularly in Mobile Legends, aiming to inspire young people to explore opportunities in digital sports.
In addition to the seminars, ACO Goes to UGM hosted the ASUS Campus Café booth showcasing various ASUS products, as well as a Tekken Mini Tournament at the Philosophy UGM courtyard.
