The UGM Faculty of Pharmacy (Pharmacy UGM) has received a donation of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns from the Japanese company Nacalai Tesque.
The donation was symbolically handed over through a document signing by the Executive Director of Nacalai Tesque, Akira Hashimoto, and the Dean of Pharmacy UGM, Professor Satibi, on Tuesday (Jun. 25).
In his welcoming speech, Dean Satibi mentioned that the HPLC equipment donation from Nacalai Tesque supports educational and research activities for lecturers and students at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
“The addition of these HPLC columns will significantly enhance our research capabilities, allowing us to advance our scientific investigations and make more substantial contributions to the field of pharmaceutical sciences,” he said.
According to Professor Satibi, this donation will benefit our faculty and encourage interdisciplinary research and innovation across all faculties and schools within Universitas Gadjah Mada.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our academic and research efforts,” he stated.
On this occasion, Dean Satibi specifically expressed his appreciation to Hashimoto for his willingness to be present to personally hand over the equipment, further strengthening the collaboration with Pharmacy UGM.
“Your presence here today signifies a strong partnership between our two institutions and underscores Nacalai Tesque’s commitment to supporting educational and research excellence,” he said.
Hashimoto explained that their donation was to support research activities in Indonesia to become more advanced and developed.
“We support research so that scientists get the research materials they need,” he said.
As a leading company based in Kyoto, Japan, they aim to establish partnerships to collaborate to support laboratory equipment with advanced technology and scientific research.
“We do not just bring products but also want to build partnerships to support local businesses’ growth and foster innovation towards a brighter future. Therefore, we look forward to productive collaborations to support conducive research in Indonesia,” he concluded.
