The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), graduated 29 new accountants on Friday (Sep. 27) at the FEB UGM Learning Center.
With the addition of these new graduates, FEB UGM has successfully produced a total of 2,565 accounting professionals.
In the 22nd graduation ceremony for the Accounting Profession Program, First Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, 29 graduates passed the Chartered Accountant (CA) competency exam, 5 passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, and 1 graduate passed both the CA and CPA competency exams.
Dean of FEB UGM, Professor Didi Achjari, congratulated all graduates of the Accounting Profession Program who have officially earned the title of accountant.
He emphasized that this achievement is the result of hard work, perseverance, and dedication throughout their education in the Accounting Profession Program.
“The accountant title you have earned, along with the professional certifications you may have or will achieve, such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), symbolizes the trust and significant responsibility you now carry,” he explained.
Professor Achjari highlighted that, given the dynamics of the global economy and rapid technological advancements, the accounting profession must continuously adapt and innovate.
He believes that the knowledge, competencies, and values of integrity instilled during their studies will be essential assets for the graduates to face various challenges in the professional world.
“Be accountants who are not only technically competent but also possess high professional ethics, capable of providing innovative solutions and contributing to economic development and the well-being of society,” he encouraged.
Professor Achjari also advised the graduates to remain lifelong learners. He hopes they will continue to uphold the spirit of learning, stay open to new knowledge, and always honor the good name of their alma mater.
Meanwhile, the Accounting Profession Program Head, Dr. Sony Warsono, reported that in this graduation, 14 graduates achieved cum laude honors.
The average GPA for this period was 3.70, with the highest being 3.89, achieved by Lisa. The youngest graduate was Muhammad Ikhsanul Amri Daeng Sutte, 23 years old.
The Chair of the Yogyakarta Regional Branch of the Indonesian Institute of Public Accountants (IAPI), Sandra Pracipta, also attended the ceremony and gave a speech.
