The presence of the Lembaran Kisah team in Puyahan Village, South Lembar District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, has become an opportunity to revive the spirit of local tourism management through the program “Level Up Tourism: Tourism Package Development.”
Fikri Yoga Pratama, a team member, said that over the course of 50 days, the team designed and tested a tourism package in Puyahan Hamlet in collaboration with local youth and community leaders.
“This tourism package combines attractions such as mangrove trekking and Cemare Beach. We also prepared leaflets and social media content that residents can use for future promotions,” said Pratama on Tuesday (Aug. 12).
According to Pratama, the program is part of the theme of the Lembaran Kisah project, which focuses on developing local infrastructure through participatory and sustainable approaches.
In its implementation, the program engaged local youth to revive the spirit of collaboration in developing the tourism sector, which had previously stalled.
The tourism package was then trialed with local youth to provide the community with a concrete picture of how an integrated tourism concept can attract visitors and create new economic opportunities.
Zulkarnaen, a youth representative from Puyahan Hamlet, said that the presence of the KKN UGM students has greatly supported tourism development in South Lembar. He noted that the trial run of the tourism package also motivated young people to become more active and aware of their village’s tourism potential.
“Now, the flow of visitors is more organized thanks to the package, which makes it easier for them to explore various spots in South Lembar,” he said.
In addition, the tourism package was presented in the form of leaflets and social media content, both of which are essential for future tourism development.
As the program’s closing activity, the KKN UGM team officially launched the tourism package on Aug. 6, 2025. On this occasion, the team also handed over all supporting documents, including digital files, videos, and leaflets, to the village authorities.
“We hope this initiative will serve as a starting point for South Lembar’s tourism development to continue growing independently and sustainably,” Pratama concluded.
