The Pijar Foundation, in collaboration with the UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, is organizing an upskilling and reskilling program tailored for young Indonesian talents during the odd semester of the academic year 2023/2024.
Dubbed Future Skills Batch 9, this initiative reopens as a comprehensive lecture series catering to students and the broader public from all corners of Indonesia.
This semester-long program is designed to comprise 8-12 sessions alongside a culminating final assignment. Participants can obtain a certificate, recognized as credit hours, at their respective universities.
Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, expressed enthusiasm for the ongoing collaboration with the Future Skills program by the Pijar Foundation, now spanning eight semesters.
“This is a full-semester lecture program with dozens of national-level organizational partners and practitioners,” he said on Monday (Jan. 29).
This semester, the Future Skills Batch 9 program is open to all students of UGM from any faculty and offered as an elective course via Simaster.
Participants can now seamlessly convert their involvement into academic credit hours through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) method, extending this opportunity to all UGM students.
“This initiative, convertible into three credit hours, is accessible via Simaster UGM. With a roster of esteemed industry and community partners, the program aims to equip participants with invaluable knowledge and skills crucial for today’s job market,” Dr. Mas’udi elaborated.
Moreover, the program offers internships, potential recruitment opportunities facilitated by course organizers, and the possibility of securing funding for standout projects.
Dozens of partners from diverse industrial and community backgrounds are set to contribute to the lectures, serving as mentors throughout the semester-long learning journey.
“Through this program, participants will benefit from the mentorship of these partners, gaining insights and expertise essential for their professional growth,” the dean added.
