In line with the commitment to support the health and well-being of the university community, the Faculty of Philosophy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Philosophy UGM) has established a Health Promoting University (HPU) Working Team at the faculty level.
This initiative marks an important initial step for Philosophy UGM in realizing a healthy campus in accordance with the HPU concept, which emphasizes health as an integral part of academic life and the campus community.
“We aim to support a healthier and more prosperous campus environment through HPU in the Faculty of Philosophy,” said the dean of Philosophy UGM, Dr. Siti Murtiningsih, during the HPU Work Program Workshop on Tuesday (Sep. 17) in the Faculty Meeting Room.
According to the dean, as an initial step in formulating the action plan for the newly established HPU team, the faculty organized this workshop, which featured the Chair of HPU UGM, Professor Yayi Suryo Prabandari, and the Secretary of HPU UGM, Dr. Supriyati, to provide strategic insights on HPU program development.
“This workshop is expected to produce concrete, sustainable work plans to support the healthy campus program. It is essential to our commitment to educating students,” the dean stated.
Professor Prabandari and Dr. Supriyati appreciated Philosophy UGM’s initiative to form the HPU Team with a comprehensive working group that aligns with HPU program priorities at UGM.
They hope that the spirit of healthy living will be embraced by all faculty members and that this initiative can be emulated by other faculties at UGM.
“In Philosophy UGM, we have an overall working group. It is important to remember that HPU belongs to all of us; the spirit of healthy living is a shared commitment, not just the responsibility of the HPU working group,” Dr. Supriyati emphasized.
The HPU Team at the Faculty of Philosophy is led by Zainal Mustofa, the Head of the Faculty Administration Office, with Shoim Mardiyah serving as the Training, Facilities, and Infrastructure Coordinator.
The HPU Team is divided into seven working groups, each responsible for promoting health initiatives on campus.
The seven groups are Physical Activity, coordinated by Dr. M. Rodinal Khair Khasri; Tobacco, Drug, and Alcohol Dependence Prevention, coordinated by Rangga Kala Mahasiswa; and Posbindu and Health Literacy, coordinated by Dr. Laily Muthmainnah.
Additionally, there is a Mental Health group, coordinated by Dela Khoirul Ainia; a Healthy Eating group, coordinated by Rona Utami; a Healthy, Safe, and Disability-Friendly Environment, coordinated by Taufiqurrahman; and a Prevention of Harassment, Violence, Bullying, and Reproductive Health group, coordinated by Sri Yulita Pramulia Panani.
