Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is strengthening internal and external cooperation to produce data and outcomes that can enhance the university’s reputation at the national and international levels.
Each working unit within UGM is improving the quality and quantity of collaboration.
“The success of the collaboration is not only measured by the number of activities but also by the data and outcomes achieved from these collaborations,” said UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia during the Monitoring and Evaluation of Cooperation Management between Working Units at the Royal Ambarukmo on Wednesday (Nov. 6).
Professor Emilia mentioned five cross-unit collaboration programs designed to strengthen synergy at UGM, including a Visual Communication Design (DKV) program supported by the Communication Studies program and other departments.
Another criminology program involves the Faculty of Law (FH UGM), the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK UGM), and the Anthropology Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB UGM).
Additionally, UGM focuses on maritime and sustainability programs in relation to climate change issues.
According to Professor Emilia, this collaboration will allow UGM to create leading innovative products that are ready for execution each year. Furthermore, Professor Emilia emphasized UGM’s shift in focus from the quantity of collaborations to the quality of outcomes achieved.
The Director of Partnerships and Global Relations (DKRG) at UGM, Professor Puji Astuti, highlighted the importance of the UGM spirit of cooperation in strengthening its reputation nationally and internationally.
“I am confident that with the team spirit and collaboration at UGM, this will be a solid foundation to ensure our university’s name is recognized not only nationally but globally,” she expressed.
Professor Astuti said that UGM continues to work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the global community through collaborations in various fields, including education, research, community service, ecosystem support, and fostering a conducive campus atmosphere.
All of these efforts are carried out in partnership with other entities to improve the quality of the academic system.
Through this evaluation activity, UGM is committed to further enhancing cross-unit collaboration to create impactful national and international works.
