The UGM Prevention and Handling Task Force for Sexual Violence (Satgas PPKS) conducted a capacity building for the Yemaya community and the organizing committee of the UGM Anti-Sexual Violence Ambassador on Tuesday (27/6) at the UGM Library.
The Yemaya community is an anti-sexual violence campaign project that collaborates with Satgas PPKS and the UGM Student Executive Board. This community is expected to serve as a catalyst or agent of change through preventive actions.
The Yemaya community serves as an intermediary for the selection and legitimation of the status of anti-sexual violence ambassadors, hoping to reduce and prevent cases of sexual violence.
The activity lasted approximately 5 hours, aiming to equip members of the Yemaya community and the organizing committee with an understanding of sexual violence.
Trainers in this event were Dr. Sri Wiyanti Eddyono on sexual violence, Aditya Putra Kurniawan on gender and masculinity, Dr. Ratna Noviani on social media implications, and Hamada Adzani on organizational ethics for students.
The participants in this activity comprised 120 individuals from various student groups who would later become members of the committee and the Yemaya community.
This series of capacity building is expected to provide knowledge and skills to the members of the Yemaya community and the organizing committee for the Anti-Sexual Violence Ambassador to carry out their tasks and goals of reducing cases of sexual violence within Universitas Gadjah Mada through preventive measures.
