UGM is strongly committed to continuously moving towards a sustainable campus. This is done through various collaborative efforts.
One initiative undertaken is the initiation of workshops on sustainable development. This step aims to strengthen sustainable collaboration within UGM’s campus and through multisectoral collaboration with UGM’s external stakeholders in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The workshop organized by the University Quality Assurance and Reputation Unit was attended by representatives from all faculties and work units within UGM. During the event, updates were provided on activities to achieve the SDGs, reputation programs, introducing sustainable campuses, and establishing reputation improvement team institutions.
This workshop also aims to enhance UGM’s international reputation through international rankings and supports the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for units at UGM.
“Publications related to SDGs are part of efforts to enhance international reputation through rankings such as Times Higher Education (THE),” explained the UGM Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Professor Wening Udasmoro, while opening the Sustainable Campus Workshop on Tuesday (Mar. 26) at the University Club.
Vice-Rector Udasmoro stated that UGM is currently developing systems to support the increase in SDG publications at UGM and its work units. With these steps, it is hoped that publications will meet the target performance achievement of units at UGM in terms of quantity and quality.
The Head of the University Quality Assurance and Reputation Unit, Professor Indra Wijaya Kusuma, added that UGM is currently working to strengthen the World-Class University team representing the faculties. The team has been operating for the past three years and will be further strengthened to support the achievement of the SDGs and the performance targets of work units.
“Hopefully, this activity will benefit the university and its work units,” he concluded.
