Thirty UGM students are carrying out the Student Community Services-Community Empowerment Learning (KKN-PPM) in Kemloko and Klepu Villages, Kranggan District, Temanggung Regency.
Accompanied by Field Supervising Lecturer Dr. Sartini, these students will engage in community service activities until mid-August.
In her statement to journalists on Monday (3/7), Dr. Sartini mentioned that the KKN activities in these two villages are themed “Empowering Communities in Efforts to Address Childhood Stunting and Extreme Poverty through Optimization of Natural Resources and Human Resources.”
Dr. Sartini explained that the KKN-PPM programs can run smoothly and serve as a learning experience for individuals when they engage with the community.
“What the students will do can also benefit them after graduation. The programs implemented will positively impact the communities of Kemloko and Klepu,” she said.
The head of Kranggan District, Seri Suharsa, hopes that the students can carry out their programs smoothly and bring about changes in the community, especially in childhood stunting and poverty eradication.
“Our message is always to maintain values of decency when interacting with the community and to be cautious when using social media in this digital era,” said the Kranggan head when welcoming the students at the Kranggan District Office on Saturday (24/6).
Furthermore, Seri Suharsa also reminded the students to educate the community effectively by understanding and meeting the needs of the residents.
“Be someone who understands, rather than just being smart, because smart people can deceive, while those who understand can empathize. This is what will be needed in the community when all of you graduate and start working,” he concluded.
