UGM students taking Community Service (KKN-PPM) in Tunjungan and Kedungrejo organized the Blora Tourism Village Festival to promote tourism and cultural potential in Tunjungan Village, Tunjungan District, Blora Regency.
The festival was held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, in collaboration with the Blora Regency Department of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism and the Tunjungan Village Government.
Dr. Eko Setyobudi, the supervisor of the Tunjungan unit, explained that the festival featured various activities, such as an MSME Festival, an exhibition of finalists from the Blora Tourism Village competition, art performances, and a workshop by UGM students.
Additionally, there was a children’s game festival, free health check-ups, a healthy walk, and the 2023 Blora Tourism Village awarding.
“This festival serves as a platform to introduce and promote the various potentials of Tunjungan Village to the wider community,” Dr. Setyobudi explained on Friday (11/8).
In her speech, the Vice Regent of Blora, Tri Yuli Setyowati, thanked UGM students for supporting the 2023 Blora Tourism Village Festival.
Community service activities in her region have positively contributed to enhancing human resource capacity, especially for MSME entrepreneurs in Tunjungan and Kedungrejo Villages, who have been guided and mentored throughout the program.
She also hoped that participants in this year’s festival would continue to develop each village’s potential. This way, the winners could compete to become leading tourist villages at the national level.
During her visit to the workshop, Tri Yuli Setyowati showed interest in the briquette products developed by the UGM students. She highly appreciated the students’ achievements during their time in Tunjungan and Kedungrejo Villages.
The 2023 Blora Tourism Village Festival concluded with the announcement of Bangoan Village as the 1st place winner of the Blora Regency Tourism Village competition.
At the end of the event, the Head of the Tourism Division of the Department of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism, Budi Riyanto, expressed gratitude to all the community members and organizers who had put in maximum effort and participated in the festival.
The event was also attended by Achlif Nugroho Widi Utomo, a Blora Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) member who is also the Chairman of the UGM Alums Family in Blora.
