The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of the Federal Republic of Germany officially visited UGM on Friday (Mar. 7).
Kathrin Meyer, Head of the Division of Cooperation with Asia and Oceania, led the BMBF delegation.
UGM University Secretary Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu noted that several universities in Germany are among UGM’s most active partners.
“We have partner universities in Germany that are involved in student mobility programs,” said Dr. Tonralipu.
He stated that during the meeting, the BMBF delegation from Germany discussed several potential areas for further collaboration.
“We are exploring opportunities for collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service,” he said.
Kathrin Meyer welcomed the prospect of closer cooperation between the two parties. She noted that Indonesia and Germany have a long-standing tradition of diplomatic relations.
“This cooperation has been established for over 45 years in the fields of research and development in Indonesia,” she said.
In addition to opening cooperation with universities in Indonesia, they are also exploring research collaborations with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in the field of science.
