Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again participated in the Evaluation and Technical Reporting Discussion for Academic and Vocational Public Relations of State Universities.
This discussion focused on the National Selection for New Student Admission (SNPMB) 2025, held from Jul. 9-11, 2025, at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Makassar.
The event, initiated by the SNPMB Team, was attended by dozens of public relations representatives from state universities across Indonesia.
It served as a collective reflection space on the role of public relations in supporting the implementation of SNPMB, both through achievement and test pathways.
During the meeting, UGM received appreciation from the committee as the manager of expedition videos with the most views in the 2025 SNPMB campaign series.
Several video contents were aired on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube platforms. On Instagram, the Physics study program’s expedition content garnered 213,000 views.
Meanwhile, the Biology study program’s video received 255,000 views, and the Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology study program’s content was watched by 238,000 people.
Additionally, six other universities received awards. Politeknik Negeri Semarang received an award for the most expedition videos produced.
Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta won the expedition video with the most likes, while the video with the best concept was awarded to Universitas Sulawesi Barat.
Furthermore, Institut Seni Budaya Bandung received the award for the most inspiring expedition video. Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Pangkajene Kepulauan won for the most educational expedition video.
University Secretary of UGM, Dr. Andi Sandi, expressed gratitude for the achievement.
According to Dr. Sandi, this award and appreciation are the result of solid teamwork and a shared commitment.
This commitment is to continuously provide useful, inclusive information that reaches the wider community.
“UGM’s participation in this forum is also a tangible form of support for public information disclosure and strengthening the role of public relations in the national higher education ecosystem,” Dr. Sandi said on Friday (Jul. 11).
According to Dr. Sandi, the role of public relations is not only limited to conveying information but also serving as a strategic link between institutions and society.
He affirmed that strong public relations is a vital foundation in building public trust, especially amidst the increasingly dynamic challenges of digital communication.
Therefore, evaluation forums like this are considered important to strengthen coordination and align communication strategies across institutions.
“I believe every university needs to encourage public relations professionals within higher education to continuously conduct ongoing evaluations and innovate in delivering institutional messages accurately, engagingly, and impactfully,” Dr. Sandi concluded.
