Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) achieved remarkable success at the 2024 Indonesia Public Relations Awards (AHI) by winning the Gold Winner in the Government Public Relations Program category under the State University Subcategory.
The university also wins the Bronze Winner in the Most Innovative Public Information Disclosure Services category under the Public Information Service Report Subcategory. The awards were presented on Friday (Oct. 11) at The Rich Hotel, Yogyakarta.
The Secretary of UGM, Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, stated that this achievement is a proud milestone for UGM’s public relations communication performance in realizing transparent and accountable public information services at UGM.
“This award is the result of the hard work of the entire UGM public relations team, who have worked collaboratively and innovatively in developing an effective communication program,” said Dr. Tonralipu on Monday (Oct. 14).
He further emphasized that creating transparent and accountable public information services requires good collaboration between different work units and the entire UGM community.
He also assured the leadership of its commitment to supporting communication efforts to facilitate the implementation of public information services at UGM.
In his speech, Asmono Wikan, CEO of PR Indonesia Group, stated that AHI 2024 is a celebration of communication efforts that continuously impact public information services in public agencies or institutions.
“Organizations and public institutions that perform well will undoubtedly reap great benefits, whether in times of crisis or normalcy,” he said.
In its 6th year, the competition, initiated by HUMAS Indonesia, part of the PR Indonesia Group, attracted 240 entries from 62 institutions.
The submissions competed in various categories, including Most Innovative Public Information Service, Best PPID (Public Information Officer), Internal Media, Digital Channels, and Government Public Relations Program.
All entries reflected the central theme of AHI 2024, “Public Relations Professionalism for a Golden Indonesia,” highlighting the importance of information transparency as a form of public relations professionalism in supporting Indonesia’s progress.
