It targets 1st Place Business Plan Presentation, Top 5 Engineering Design, Top 5 Cost and Manufacturing, and Top 5 Dynamics Events, accompanied by various other achievements in all branches of the competition in Formula Student Spain.
In the previous year, Bimasakti became the first Formula Student team from Indonesia to compete in Italy, successfully bringing pride to Indonesia with achievements including 1st Place Business Plan Presentation and Top 5 Dynamic Event against major world teams such as European teams. This year, all team members confidently target higher achievements for the nation’s name.
Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, said that the launch of this car is not only an extraordinary achievement for the Bimasakti team but also an actual proof of the spirit of innovation, hard work, and dedication of all Bimasakti members.
Everyone hopes that Bimasakti’s readiness in Formula Student Spain will enable the introduction of the charm of Indonesia’s tourist destinations through the Wonderful Indonesia brand,” the minister said.
Team Captain Leander Axellino thanks all parties who have always supported the dreams of the UGM Bimasakti Racing Team. The team has made every effort to prepare for Formula Student Spain.
“We are pouring our thoughts, energy, and time into bringing the name of Indonesia to the international arena. We need your prayers and blessings for the smoothness of achieving all the targets that will later prove that Indonesia can compete with other countries,” he said.
Furthermore, Leander Axellino explained that Formula Student Spain is one of the Formula Student competition series organized by SAE International. This is an annual competition with participants from European countries such as Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey, Italy, Romania, and several countries outside Europe.
Based on the Formula Student World Ranking, Formula Student Spain has a higher level of competitiveness than Formula Student Italy, the competition Bimasakti entered in the previous year.
Joined by 110 Formula Student teams from 26 countries, Formula Student Spain is a new challenge that will continue to trigger the positive development and growth of the Bimasakti performance. This competition has two events: dynamic events directly related to cars, such as speed, strength, and skidpad, and static events, such as cost events and business plans.
This year, the Bimasakti team is making a concerted effort to enhance its performance across various aspects. They are set to unveil an exciting grand launching concept regarding team operations for the first time. In a departure from previous years, Bimasakti will showcase Indonesia’s captivating beauty to the world through the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
In terms of car design, to achieve optimal performance, Bimasakti has successfully developed a car guided by four design principles:
- Lightweight: This is achieved using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) for the bodywork and aerodynamic devices.
- Speed: Engine performance enhancements have been attained through a meticulously designed, simulated, and validated design process.
- Efficiency: Adjustable fuel mapping contributes to achieving this goal.
- Ergonomics: The cockpit is meticulously crafted to align with the driver’s posture perfectly.
“These advancements in the manufacturing process this year are expected to propel the Wonderful Indonesia Bimasakti Racing Team to keep accelerating forward and bring pride to Indonesia,” remarked Axillio.
