
The Faculty of Animal Science at UGM (Animal Science UGM) received a visit from a representative of Nagoya University, Dr. Veeraya Chenchittikul, on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
The visit aimed to explore potential academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.
The Dean of Animal Science at UGM, Professor Budi Guntoro, explained that the visit was an opportunity to discuss various academic cooperation opportunities.
These collaborations include sending Animal Science UGM students to Nagoya University and vice versa.
“We agreed to open up possibilities for short-term education programs such as summer courses and student exchanges,” he said.
Professor Guntoro expressed his enthusiasm and keen interest in sending students from Animal Science UGM to study at Nagoya University.
He mentioned that Animal Science UGM students have a strong interest in studying abroad.
“Every year, on average, Animal Science UGM sends more than seven students to Japan,” he explained.
Dr. Chenchittikul stated that Nagoya University continues to support its students in participating in short-term education programs abroad.
“The interest of Japanese students to study abroad is still low,” she added.
Also attending the meeting were the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, and the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. Andriyani Astuti.
