The Faculty of Animal Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Animal Science UGM) has won the Silver Winner title in the 2025 Indonesia DEI & ESG Awards (IDEAS) under the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) category, specifically in the Inclusive Culture subcategory. The award was presented during the IDEAS 2025 awards ceremony held on Thursday, Jun. 19, 2025, at Menara Peninsula Hotel in Jakarta.
The prestigious recognition was awarded to Animal Science UGM for its program titled “Semangat Siham: Weaving Inclusion from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science”.
The jury praised the program for its strategic communication practices grounded in the values of inclusivity within the academic environment.
The program stood out for its success in fostering collective awareness among the academic community to welcome, support, and empower students with special needs to learn and grow optimally.
IDEAS is a national competition organized by PR INDONESIA that assesses strategic communication programs against best practices for implementing the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
This year’s competition attracted participation from 46 institutions, including ministries, government agencies, regional governments, state universities, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), SOE subsidiaries, regional-owned enterprises, national referral and regional hospitals (RSUP/RSUD), multinational and national private corporations, NGOs, and non-profit organizations across Indonesia.
A total of 85 entries were submitted, and 35 institutions were selected as winners, with 55 entries awarded in the DEI and ESG categories.
The judging process was conducted online on 27–28 May 2025 by a panel comprising seasoned professionals in communication and sustainability, including Asmono Wikan (CEO of PR INDONESIA), Herry Ginanjar (Chairperson of the Indonesian ESG Professional Association/IEPA), and Emilia Bassar (CEO of CPROCOM).
Dean of Animal Science UGM, Professor Budi Guntoro, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the award received by his faculty.
He hopes this achievement will serve as a source of motivation for the entire academic community at Animal Science UGM to continue innovating and excelling.
“This award is tangible proof that the spirit of inclusivity is not merely a slogan, but has become a part of our culture. Animal Science UGM will continue to embrace diversity and provide space for everyone to grow and thrive together,” said Dean Guntoro on Friday, Jun. 20, 2025.
Founder and CEO of PR INDONESIA Group, Asmono Wikan, added that IDEAS 2025 reaffirms the importance of inclusive communication as a foundation for organizational sustainability and encourages all stakeholders to collaborate towards a more progressive Indonesia.
