Amid the government’s efforts to establish 80,000 Red-and-White Village Cooperatives (KDMP) to drive rural economic growth, combat loan sharks, and stabilize commodity prices, the Multipurpose Cooperative of Universitas Gadjah Mada Lecturers (Kosudgama) Daya Gemilang has concluded its 2025 fiscal year by holding its 44th Annual Members Meeting. The event took place at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM and was attended by approximately 1,110 members and partners on Saturday (March 28).
Until its 44th anniversary, Kosudgama has achieved significant progress, milestones, expanded networks, and broad operational results. In 2025, the cooperative implemented several flagship programs, including office and business development, construction of the Plaza Kosudgama building, expansion of cooperative business units, and establishment of four Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) for MBG kitchens.
“We have also begun exploring other business ventures. Looking ahead, there is even an offer to acquire a hospital, although it is still at the negotiation stage,” Chairperson of Kosudgama, Dr. Noorhadi Rahardjo, stated in his remarks.

UGM Secretary, Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, expressed appreciation for Kosudgama, which now has around 8,855 members, with approximately 1,700 affiliated with UGM. Although they are no longer the majority, he emphasized that Kosudgama’s contribution to the academic community remains substantial and should continue to be strengthened through enhanced collaboration.
He also highlighted the importance of adapting to current economic and business challenges without losing sight of the cooperative’s core principle, member welfare. Various initiatives, ranging from support for basic needs services to healthcare facilities and transportation partnerships, were regarded as positive steps that should be further developed.
“Congratulations, and hopefully this meeting will produce better decisions for advancing future welfare,” he said.

The Deputy for Talent Development and Cooperative Competitiveness at the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives, Destry Anna Sari, conveyed several messages from the Minister of Cooperatives. She noted that as a cooperative operating within a university environment, Kosudgama holds a strategic position, not only as an economic entity but also as a space for learning and innovation grounded in shared values. According to her, cooperatives can only progress if members are actively involved, not merely registered, but also contributing through transactions, feedback, and participation in decision-making.
Furthermore, Destry emphasized the importance of innovation in business units, including the potential development of insurance services that could provide both protection and economic benefits for members. She welcomed the plan to establish a cooperative training and capacity-building center, which is expected to serve as an agent of change.
“We highly welcome this initiative, especially as 80,000 Red-and-White village cooperatives require strong examples of managing cooperatives in line with members’ needs,” she stated.
Complementing its development report, Kosudgama recorded a 13.5 percent increase in turnover in the 2025 fiscal year. The audit report was presented by Dr. Moh. Mahsun, who explained that Kosudgama’s financial performance in 2025 improved compared to the previous year, particularly in revenue, which rose from Rp17.5 billion in 2024 to Rp19.9 billion in 2025.
Mahshun noted that Kosudgama’s assets also increased significantly, from Rp293 billion in 2024 to Rp312 billion in 2025. This growth was largely driven by financing disbursed to members, reflecting the cooperative’s expanding role in supporting members’ economic needs. He also highlighted a more productive asset management strategy, including a shift from deposit placements that contributed to increased member receivables.
“After examination, clarification, and validation, we conclude that Kosudgama’s 2025 financial statements are fairly presented without exception (unqualified opinion),” he concluded.
