After observing the high interest from prospective participants in the UGM independent admission test (UM UGM CBT) for 2024, the registration deadline for all test locations except Jakarta has been changed.
Registration, which was originally set to close on May 7, 2024, for all test locations, is now adjusted as follows: registration is extended until May 13, 2024, at 3:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) for the test locations in Medan, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, and Kupang, while registration is extended until May 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM WIB for the test locations in Yogyakarta and Makassar.
The change in registration deadlines aims to give prospective UM UGM CBT participants the greatest opportunity to prepare more optimally.
The UM UGM CBT tests will be held from May 28 to 30, 2024, at the test locations in Kupang and Balikpapan. Following that, the tests will take place from May 30 to June 1, 2024, at Medan and Pekanbaru.
The Makassar test location will conduct the tests from June 11 to 13, 2024, and the Jakarta test location will hold the tests from June 30 to July 4, 2024. As for the Yogyakarta test location, UM UGM CBT tests will be conducted from June 11 to 14 and July 2 to 4, 2024.
Implementing UM UGM CBT tests outside Yogyakarta and Jakarta involves collaboration with local UGM Alumni (Kagama).
“We are working with local Kagama to operate UM UGM CBT tests in each area. The local committees in each area are ready and have taken various preparatory steps to ensure the smooth conduct of the tests,” stated the Director of Education and Teaching, Professor Gandes Retno Rahayu.
Due to the limited registration quota, the director encourages prospective students who wish to take the UM UGM CBT to register as soon as possible.
“I emphasize to prospective students interested in registering for UM UGM CBT to do so promptly because the quota is limited,” she stressed.
UM UGM CBT applicants can choose programs in science, social sciences, or both. However, the mixed group can only be selected for the Yogyakarta test location. The three program group options will undergo the general knowledge test, which consists of basic mathematics, Indonesian and English language tests, and academic potential tests.
Each group’s exam options also include testing on academic ability materials. The science group’s test materials include physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics (natural sciences). Meanwhile, the social sciences group covers history, geography, economics, and sociology. The mixed group will tackle a combination of science and social sciences test materials.
According to Professor Rahayu, the student intake quota for this year is 10,372 new undergraduate and applied undergraduate students, consisting of 9,362 regular program students and 1,010 international program students.
For the regular program, UGM will accept 30% or 2,821 students from the academic excellence-based entrance selection (SNBP) pathway, 30% or 2,821 students from the national entrance test (SNBT) pathway, and 40% or 3,720 students from the independent pathway (UM UGM CBT and UM UGM PBU).
Professor Rahayu added that participants must also take the UTBK 2024 to participate in UM UGM CBT.
“The assessment components for UM UGM CBT will combine UM UGM CBT scores and UTBK 2024 scores. So, participants must have a UTBK score,” she concluded.
