The Master’s in Architecture at Universitas Gadjah Mada offers four programs: the Architecture program, the Architectural Design concentration, the Tourism Architecture concentration, and the Master’s by Research. The Master’s in Architecture aims to produce researchers and research-oriented professionals in the field of architecture who possess a broad perspective and are inspired by the spirit of culture, democracy, humanity, and science and technology.

Graduates of this program will hold the degree of Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) and possess the ability to advance knowledge in the field of Architecture, integrate various factors, and apply knowledge grounded in rigorous scientific standards and comprehensive theoretical understanding; to creatively and innovatively solve problems in the field of Architecture by gathering information, formulating problems, and conducting analytical syntheses that result in studies, planning, and design using a multidisciplinary approach; to manage research, conducting development, and applying research results to solve problems that benefit society and the field of Architecture; and to compile and communicate scientific works in written, graphic, and verbal forms, as well as acting in accordance with the code of academic ethics and architectural practice

  • Four concentration programs: the Architecture Program focuses on developing knowledge in the field of architecture by integrating various factors, and is grounded in rigorous scientific standards and comprehensive theoretical knowledge; the Tourism Architecture Concentration, which focuses on developing knowledge in the field of Tourism Architecture by integrating various factors, grounded in rigorous scientific standards and comprehensive theoretical knowledge; the Architectural Design Concentration, which focuses on developing knowledge in architectural design through architectural design studio methods, integrating research and design capabilities in a systematic manner; and the Research-Based Architecture, designed to further refine research capabilities in the field of architecture through more rigorous literature reviews, in-depth data collection and analysis, as well as training in publishing research findings in reputable academic journals
  • Field Studies: Structured academic activities involving direct observation, case analysis, and research at specific physical sites (locations) aimed at deepening contextual understanding, conducting case studies, and applying theoretical knowledge.
  • Guest Lectures: Events featuring lecturers and professionals who deliver talks to the entire academic community. Lecturers are typically from other countries or other universities in Indonesia.
  • Computer Lab Facilities and Research Equipment: A computer lab is available with licensed software applications, simulation tools, and measuring instruments to support student research activities.
