Master’s Program in Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering,  Universitas Gadjah Mada, is the first interdisciplinary master’s program in Indonesia in the field of science and technology. This program is capable of adapting to contemporary issues such as Industry 4.0/Society 5.0, Net Zero Emissions, Energy Transition, and Digital Marketing. Graduates of the Master’s Program in Systems Engineering will be able to perceive problems as complex, interconnected systems and resolve them through a systems engineering approach. 

Graduates of the Master Program in Systems Engineering, Faculty of  Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, are awarded the degree of  Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)

Key Strengths

  1. The curriculum is highly adaptive to current and emerging issues.
  2. The curriculum is designed to be completed within three semesters.
  3. Four concentrations are offered as areas of study in Systems Engineering: New and Renewable Energy Systems Engineering,  Industrial Systems Engineering, Environmental Systems  Engineering, and Digital Marketing Systems Engineering. 
  4. Supported by lecturers with strong global academic networks,  consisting of Professors (14 lecturers) and Doctoral degree holders  (15 lecturers). 
  5. A double degree program with the University of Dundee is available,  supported by LPDP scholarships. 
  6. The program is open to applicants from all undergraduate backgrounds (pure sciences as well as education disciplines).
  7. Various admission pathways are available, including the Regular Program, Special Regular Program, Research-Based Master’s Program (MbR), Fast Track Program, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program, Educational Cooperation Program, Double Degree Program, Executive Program, and Alumni Achievement Program.
  8. Scholarship opportunities are available from LPDP, Beasiswa  Unggulan, Regional Government Scholarships, Partial  Scholarships from UGM, and other scholarship providers.
  9. Graduates will possess the competence to think holistically without neglecting details and to produce elegant designs and solutions for complex systems.

Graduates of the Master’s Program in Systems Engineering can pursue careers in: 

  1. Government ministries (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources,  Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Environment, etc.) 
  2. Regional government agencies (Energy and Mineral Resources  Agency, Industry and Trade Agency, Environmental Agency, etc.)
  3. Lecturers at various public and private schools and universities (UGM, UNY, UII, ITY, etc.)  
  4. Research institutions (National Research and Innovation  Agency/BRIN)  
  5. State-Owned Enterprises (PT PLN, PT Pertamina, PT Indonesia  Power, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia, PT Pupuk Indonesia, etc.)  6. National private companies (PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk., PT Adaro  Andalan Indonesia Tbk., etc.)  
  6. Entrepreneurship and consultancy sectors (Enthalphy Environergy  Consulting, Rancang Suaka Consulting, Swatu Design Architectural  and Structural Design Consulting, etc.)

Master’s Program in Systems Engineering has been  accredited with the highest rating of “Unggul” (Excellent) by the National  Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT)
