The Professional Program in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, offers a comprehensive professional education through a structured academic system. This is complemented by the General Psychologist Professional Service (LPPPU), providing students with hands-on experience across four key settings: workplace, education, community, and health. Upon completion, graduates are awarded the title of ‘Psychologist’ and granted official certification by the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI).

Tujuan

The Professional Program in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, aims to produce professional psychologists who possess the following competencies:

  1. Mastery of Psychological Foundations: To master theories, assessment methods, and psychological interventions in accordance with general psychologist competencies to resolve various psychological issues.
  2. Applied Assessment and Intervention: The ability to implement diverse psychological assessment and intervention methods through interdisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary approaches to address individual, group, community, and organizational challenges, grounded in the Indonesian Code of Ethics for Psychology.
  3. Professional Service Management: The ability to effectively manage psychological services while upholding the Indonesian Code of Ethics for Psychology.
  4. Communication and Networking: The ability to communicate effectively and build professional networks within general psychology practice, both with fellow professionals and relevant stakeholders.

Learning Activities

All students are enrolled as full-time students. Within the Professional Program in Psychology, students are trained to conduct psychological assessments, interventions, evaluations, and psychological reporting. The curriculum comprises 38 credits (SKS), encompassing both general core subjects and applied fields.

The learning process is integrated through classroom lectures, laboratory practicums, and direct professional services within the community. The program is designed to be completed in 3 semesters, utilizing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Case-Based Learning (CBL) methodologies. Furthermore, students are trained to provide evidence-based psychological services, ensuring that all assessments and interventions are grounded in empirical evidence.
