As many as 93 lecturers of UGM received a decree on their status as non-civil servant permanent lecturers. The presentation was done by Vice-Rector for Human Resource and Asset, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Santoso Wignyosukarto, Dip.HE., on Tuesday (13/6) at the Senate Hall UGM.
Budi congratulated the lecturers, hoping that they would be able to strengthen UGM and contribute to the state progress in the future.
“Recently, it was announced that UGM ranked 402nd in the QS World University Ranking. We hope the new lecturers would be able to make UGM greater and better in the future,” he said.
Budi added the lecturers as educators were expected to serve as a role model for their students. They are also expected to understand the students well to prevent communication gap in teaching and learning so the students can become qualified and competitive persons with good character.
The event was the second one since the start in 2016 to meet the lack of number of lecturers through the civil servant formation since 2015.
In 2017 UGM opened a recruitment amounting 289 formations. As many as 107 people that have met the requirement were installed as permanent lecturers. Of this figure, 92 people and 1 from 2016 recruitment received decrees of appointment.
The 93 lecturers are: 4 from Faculty of Biology, 4 from Faculty of Economics and Business, 3 from Faculty of Pharmacy, 3 from Faculty of Philosophy, 3 from Faculty of Geography, and 2 from Faculty of Law. Next, 3 from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, 19 from Faculty of Medicine, 2 from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 2 from Faculty of Forestry, 3 from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and 4 from Faculty of Agriculture. Furthermore, 2 people from Faculty of Animal Sciences, 2 from Faculty of Psychology, 8 from Faculty of Engineering, 1 Faculty of Agricultural Technology, and 28 from Vocational School.
Previously in 2016 a recruitment was done for 399 formations. The number of people that met the requirement as non-civil servant permanent lecturers was 121.
