Universitas Gadjah Mada(UGM) gave a briefing to some 1,300 students who receive the Bidikmisi government scholarships for 2016 on Tuesday (15/11) in Grha Sabha Pramana Hall UGM.
UGM Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. dr. Iwan Dwiprahasto,M.Med.Sc., Ph.D, in the event asked the scholarship recipients to be ready for globalisation. They have to be able to adapt to current challenges, because there are many changes in this era, such as work place, technology role, etc.
“I did experience difficulties while I was studying myself. But God will offer help from unexpected directions if we don’t delay doing good things,” he said, motivating the students.
UGM Director for Student Affairs, Dr. Senawi, M.P., explained the academic environment that has to be met by the students. They are all expected to be able to manage their time well so as to make achievements and learn important skills.
“It’s not only about pocket money, but how to make a good environment on campus, how to manage time well so you can make achievements and learn more skills,” he said.
Head of Student Creativity Programme sub-directorate, Ahmad Agus Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D, motivated the students by explaining the programme on Student Creativity (PKM). He said UGM had opened a centre for the students that are interested in joining.
“UGM through PKM Center opens the door wide for those that want to have consultation with on student creativity projects,” he said.
