Besides Hafizurrachaman who completed the fastest study period, this time there is also the youngest student with the highest GPA.
He is Willy Abdillah who earned a doctorate in Management S3 program in the age of 32 years old with a GPA of 3.95 in 3 years and 1 month.
Willy grew up in a modest family in Palembang. The father runs a small business in funiture and is unable to finance his study since Undergraduate program. "My parents did not allow me to study at college, but suggested the school which can make me get a job immediately," said the man born in Bengkulu, July 29, 1979.
Young Willy was forced to continue his education in nursing school (SPK) so he could get a job after graduation. Apparently, God wanted other things. A regulation was issued that says no more placement for SPK graduates.
But Willy was not hopeless. He worked hard to continue his study and getting a scholarship of Postgraduate Program at Faculty of Economics and Business UGM due to his good academic track record.
Willy explained that his postgraduate education is a lifelong learning process. "The key is self-management," Willy who is also a researcher at P2EB and PSEKP FEB UGM said. Willy got used to preparing everything carefully with great discipline and good time management.
He said the achievement was not the main thing to be proud of. The point is how to get better result after study. "The success is not from quick or not the graduation is, but for lecturers, how to give better quality, create more publicity and research," he closed the conversation.
