Under the theme Change Management: Making Changes of Self, UGM Library along with the Office of University Archives for three days, 21-23 October 2011, conducted outbound and training in Wonosobo, Central Java. The event intended for UGM librarians and archivists presented resource persons, Prof. Dr. Djamaludin Ancok and Dr. Neila Ramdhani, M.Sc., M.Ed. "This change management training is important for structural officials. However, it should also touch on UGM staff as an attempt to equate perceptions related to the change management in university," Director of UGM Human Resources, Harjadi, S.H, M.M said on Friday (21/10) in Wonosobo opening the training.
Before librarians, library staff and archivists of UGM, Harjadi expected that the training and outbound are able to enhance positive energy and readiness of librarians and archivists to meet changes in order to achieve the vision and mission of UGM as a World Class Research University. "UGM’s achievements certainly do not only belong to the structural officials and teaching staff. It is also due to the support of academic and administrative staff," Harjadi added, who was accompanied by Head of UGM Library, Drs. Ida Fajar Priyanto, M.A.
The training that specifically took the title ‘Change Management in Higher Education in the Global Era for Librarians and Archivists at UGM Environment’ highlighted many issues in education that begin to change. Trends in education and the world economy begin to shift direction to Asia so that many colleges are collaborating with foreign universities to improve educational quality and quantity of students. "Therefore, it is important for librarians and archivists to close ranks and work together in a team to provide excellent service to academic community and society," Prof. Dr. Djamaludin Ancok said.
In this training, brainstorming materials of change management, excellent service, and action plan were presented in a relaxed, fluid dialogue, and fun games. Various games within the framework of work motivation and change management were followed by junior and senior participants without exception. All activities ended with a discussion and action plans, made by librarians and archivists to create unified, integrated, and modern library to reach Universitas Gadjah Mada as World Class Research University.
