The Corps of Employees of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Korpagama) conducted the slaughter of a cow in celebration of Eid al-Adhai.
The slaughter took place in the backyard of the Korpagama building, starting at 07:00 WIB on Wednesday (Jun. 19). There was one cow, with seven participants from among the lecturers and staff of UGM.
Dr. Arief Setiawan Budi Nugroho, Vice-Rector for Planning, Assets, and Information Systems at UGM, and Paminto Adhi, Vice-Chair for Welfare and Education of Employees and their Families at Korpagama, attended the slaughtering process.
Subsequently, at 13:00 WIB, the meat was distributed. Recipients, including the Qurbani participants, were issued 142 meat distribution coupons.
“We focused the distribution on civil servants in group 1, group 1 honorary employees, and contract workers,” said Suwarsilah, Coordinator of Administration at Korpagama.
Suwarsilah mentioned that the Qurbani animal slaughtering event is routinely organized by Korpagama, where the meat is distributed to Korpagama members.
“I believe it is a significant responsibility for Korpagama to carry out this Qurbani slaughter, and the distribution of meat is hoped to be beneficial for all employees on the UGM campus and strengthen the bonds of friendship among them,” said Suwarsilah.
