Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) reaffirms its commitment to providing broad public access to information. To this end, the University Secretariat encourages Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) at the faculty level to deliver optimal public information services.
The Principal PPID, Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, together with his team, conducted internal monitoring and evaluation visits to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UGM), the Faculty of Geography (Geography UGM), and the UGM Library and Archives, which serve as three implementing PPIDs.
“Internal monitoring and evaluation is carried out once a year as part of our responsibility to ensure the quality of implementing PPIDs at UGM,” said Dr. Tonralipu on Tuesday (Sep. 9).
According to Dr. Tonralipu, the main objective of this internal review is to prepare for upcoming visits by the Central Information Commission (KIP RI) while also encouraging PPIDs to provide more informative services to the public.
“We aim to ensure that implementing PPIDs becomes more informative for institutions. They should be able to clearly distinguish between public information and personal data,” Dr. Tonralipu explained.
Dr. Sigit Heru Murti, Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources at Geography UGM, expressed appreciation for the monitoring and evaluation visit by PPID at the university level.
He emphasized that improvements at the faculty level would strengthen the Principal PPID and help UGM maintain its reputation as an informative public body.
“Although we are not pursuing rankings, we hope this year we can perform even better than before,” said Dr. Murti.
He also expressed his readiness to support preparations for the evaluation visit by KIP RI. According to him, this effort is a collective responsibility to demonstrate to the public that UGM is genuinely committed to transparency.
“This readiness is also tangible proof of UGM’s collaboration in realizing better public information disclosure,” he added.
