The final match of the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Porsenigama football competition was held in a festive atmosphere on Saturday (Oct. 25) at UGM’s Pancasila Stadium. In the match, the UGM Graduate School (SPs UGM) team emerged victorious over the UGM Faculty of Animal Science (Animal Science UGM) with a score of 5–1.
As the Person in Charge (PIC) of the football branch from the Central Committee’s Sports Division, Fadly Kristiano stated that this year’s Porsenigama presented a distinct atmosphere compared to previous years.
“This year’s event differs greatly in terms of weather and team composition. We can see more international students participating, and each faculty has developed diverse strategies and tactics,” he said.
Kristiano explained that the playing style of the participating teams this year emphasized not only individual skill but also collaboration and team cohesion on the field. This dynamic was evident throughout the matches leading up to the final.
“The playing style this year relies heavily on teamwork, though at times individual ability is needed to break through stalemates,” he added.
According to Kristiano, mental strength was also a crucial factor in determining victory. A never-give-up attitude combined with sportsmanship was key to success in this year’s Porsenigama football competition.

He concluded by expressing hope that the Porsenigama football event will continue to grow as a safe, comfortable, and inclusive space for students to showcase their talents.
“The enthusiasm of students should always be supported by the university. Hopefully, Porsenigama will continue to be a platform for UGM students to create and compete in the years to come,” he said.
Porsenigama, short for Pekan Olahraga dan Seni Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM Sports and Arts Week), is the university’s largest annual event where students demonstrate their talents in sports and the arts.
The competition brings together all faculties in a spirit of sportsmanship and friendship. This year’s Porsenigama runs from Oct. 18 to Nov. 29, featuring 23 sports and 14 arts categories.
