Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) received 14 awards at the 2025 Diktisaintek Award, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, at Graha Diktisaintek, Jakarta, on Dec. 19. Among the recognitions received, UGM was named a Silver Winner in the category of collaboration with government institutions and non-governmental organizations.
This award reflects the importance of building inclusive synergies that drive tangible impact.
Beyond being an achievement, it serves as a reminder that sustained collaboration can pave the way toward achieving sustainable development goals, particularly by strengthening cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary partnerships as part of a global commitment.
“We are grateful that UGM has received this award as a form of appreciation for the governance of collaboration that we continue to improve,” said Professor Puji Astuti, Director of Partnerships and Global Relations at UGM, on Monday (Jan. 5).

More than a list of accolades, this achievement represents a moment of reflection for Professor Astuti to further strengthen the collaborative ecosystem.
Every form of partnership established is not merely an administrative indicator, but part of a collective effort to generate broader impact for society, the nation, and the global community.
“We want the collaborations that have been established to bring greater impact to the development of our society, nation, and country, and to ensure that the quality of education at UGM receives support aligned with the needs of the community,” Professor Astuti explained.
UGM believes that today’s success is the result of carefully built collaborations, and that future steps will be far more meaningful when taken together.
This spirit of cooperation is expected to continue to grow, involving more stakeholders, reaching wider segments of society, and addressing increasingly complex development challenges ahead.
“With stronger collaboration, UGM and its partners hope to continue supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals,” she added.
As noted in the rector’s 2025 report, UGM’s domestic collaborations mobilized creative funding totaling IDR 848 billion through joint research with government bodies, industry, and partner universities.
This was complemented by academic collaborations with partners as well as community service initiatives conducted together with non-governmental organizations, government institutions, and local communities.
