One of the agenda of Asian Law Student’s Association’s (ALSA) National Chapter Indonesia is
National Moot Court Competition, Supreme Court’s Trophy (Piala Mahkamah Agung) XIX which will
be held from January 15th-18th 2016 by ALSA Local Chapter Universitas Gadjah Mada. Themed
“Integrating the Principles, Norms, and Morality to Generate Law Enforcers Who Have integrity and
Professionalims”, the participants are expected to become future law enforcers that create a
respected and valued criminal justice system.
There will be 16 delegations who will compete in 4 pools. The highest scorer from every pool will
compete in a final round. In an elimination round, delegations have to solve a case themed “Forestry
Corruption Crime” and the “Illegal Tapping” case will be a very complicated and interesting case that
must be put on trial for the final round. Besides competing for The Supreme Court’s Rotating Trophy,
participants will be awarded with various awards. In an elimination round, there will be awards for
panel of judges, prosecutor, lawyers, and law clerks. Moreover, in the final round there will be best
panel of judges award with M. Hatta Ali trophy as the prize, H.M. Prasetyo trophy for best
prosecutor and Yap Thiam Hien Trophy for best lawyer. This event is supported by Faculty of Law,
Universitas Gadjah Mada, the Supreme Court, province of Yogyakarta Special Region, Sleman
regency, Yogyakarta police, Yogyakarta Local Government Tourism Office, Yogyakarta Department of
Education, Youth and Sports, and Attorney General’s Office. Through this occassion future law
enforcers are expected to be able to prepare themselves for the real, practical work.
