DREaM is an annual international summer program held by the students of University of Gadjah Mada. DREaM 2014 will be the 6th event we hold so far. In DREaM 2013, we had around 40 participants from various countries who took part in this event. The 1st DREaM was held on 2009 and it was a success. The constant success of this program since 2009 could not have been achieved without the continuous support and hard work of the best DREaM Team. This year we are looking for new faces to become part of DREaM Team 2014 to help us collaborate with worldwide university partnes, embassies and institutions, as well as key persons of international organizations and countries around the globe.
The 6th DREaM International Summer Program is proudly organized by the Office of International Affairs with the relentless support and contribution of student volunteers. This program is dedicated to enhance people-to-people among youths across communities and nations. It is scheduled to be taking place in the beginning of August 2014. We expect 100 students from different countries to join this event.
DREaM 2014 emphasizes “Eco-preneurship” as the theme for the upcoming event. In our today’s world, we are faced with serious environmental problem. Ranging from pollution to waste, environmental challenges surround us in since the first time we open our eyes. Environmental friendly lifestyle often seen to has a high price to pay. Thus, making an eco-friendly business might be not the right choice for entrepreneur to start. But, we might be unaware that doing ecopreneurship is something worth a try. We may never imagine that something we throw everyday or our left-blank field could save both our environment and financial condition. Those are just a pinch of what we would offer in what we call “ecopreneurship”. We often think to leave better world for our generation, but do we plan to leave better generation for our world? Youth is an unquestionably massive driving force to a change. It is our duty to shape a better youth for our world in relations to our environmental challenges. Prosperous world is our dream and environmental problem is the challenges. The next generation should be able to response both question. A well prepared generation should be constructed. Ecopreneurship is the answer to leave better generation and better world for both futures.
