As many as 117 students of UGM are competing in the 28th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) from 5-9 October at Universitas Halu Oleo in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. UGM sends 117 students that join 27 teams to the event and 39 supervising lecturers.
“Although there is a slight decrease in the number of teams than last year, we’re optimistic we can be the grand champion again this year,” said Supartiningsih, Philosophy lecturer alongside the release ceremony for the students at Balairung Hall UGM on Friday (2/10).
During the release ceremony, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. dr. Iwan Dwiprahasto, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D, told the students to be confident, optimistic and keep praying. Iwan told them in order to be successful they need to always stay in good spirit and in confidence amidst any circumstances.
Such spirit is also visible in the students, which include Tita, who passed through a selection with her research titled Hypolink. She hoped she would get the gold medal from the event.
