Universitas Gadjah Mada has earned the Social Media Award 2015 in University category. The Social Media Award 2015 is an award issued by Marketing magazine supported by Mediawave social media monitoring platform. The award is presented on Thursday (22/10) in Mulia Hotel in Jakarta. UGM is represented by Exectuive Secretary, Drs. Gugup Kismono, M.B.A., Ph.D.
UGM Head of Public Relations, Wijayanti, SIP., M.Sc, appreciated the award. It showed the positive response given to UGM by the public.
“We hope UGM will be better making use of social media in order to give contributions to society and disseminate knowledge to the nation,” said Wijayanti on Friday (23/10).
Wijayanti revealed UGM has applied social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn, etc, for disseminating news and information from UGM to society. The UGM official Facebook account has received over 200 thousands of likes while its Twitter account has more of 400 thousands of followers.
“We also make use of Instagram to share pictures containing practical information from UGM,” she concluded.
