There are seven students of D3 Korean Language from Vocational School of Universitas Gadjah Mada attending student exchange at two Korean universities. Five are attending student exchange at Gangneung Wonju National University (GWNU) for 2 semesters. They are Leliyana Putritama, Anugrah Anggraeni, Ahadilla Nur’ais Hartono Putri, Mar’atus Solikhah, while Irawan Setiadi at Gyeongsang National University (GNU) for1 semester. Two others, Indhira Kusuma Wardani and Aruna Pandu Ardiyan, continued to undergraduate study programme at GWNU Korea.
Supriadianto, S.S, M.A., chairman of Korean language study programme, said the five students earned scholarships from Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) for student exchange.
“The KGSP scholarship fully funded flight tickets, tuition, dorms and living allowance,” said Supridianto on Friday 26/2) in a press release.
The other two students earned Global Government Scholarsip Program (GGSP) that covers tuition, living costs and dorms for 3-4 semesters.
Director of Vocational Shcool UGM, Ir. Hotma Prawoto Sulistyadi, M.T.,IP-Md., added the programme was a collaboration between the School and several universities and government agencies in Korea.
Annually, the D3 Korean Language study programme regularly sends students to Korea for student exchange or to continue the study to undergraduate level.
“Apart from learning Korean language, the students will also learn Korean culture and literature and will engage in cultural events in Korea,” Hotma concluded.
