UGM Student Team Wins Industrial Engineering Sciences Competition

Tim UGM Menang Lomba Keilmuan Teknik Industri Nasional

Another good achievement has been made by students of Universitas Gadjah Mada nationally. A team from Mechanical Engineering and Industry department at Faculty of Engineering has become the first winner in the 16th  Industrial Engineering Sciences competition (Lomba Keilmuan Teknik Industri/LKTI) at Universitas Indonesia from 20-24 March.

The competition was joined by as many as 58 teams from Indonesian universities, such as Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Andalas, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret, and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November.

Fadhila Nastiti, UGM team member, said this competition raised the theme Digital Disruption: Building a Sustainable E-commerce Business. Together with fellow students Eriko Rizki, Tasya Ghonia, and Nogafe Rimurta, they had to compete hard to get the championship. As many as 25 teams were through paper selection. Later, five best teams went through to the finals.

"In the finals, the big 5 analyse the warehouse of one of Asia’s biggest e-commerce, Zalora. All the participants are asked to give solutions to increase productivity of all staff there,” she said on Monday (28/3).

Fadhila expressed her excitement and pride following their win. She hoped UGM students would be able to maintain the achievement in future competitions of this one and other competitions.
