Three Animal Sciences Faculty students of Universitas Gadjah Mada were selected to join the first International Student Science Forum (ISSF) 2016 running from 6-10 April at Vietnam National University.
Those students – Rahina Muhammad Aji, Daniel Dwiki Ignasia P, and Friska Putri S.- represented Indonesia in the IFSS along with three other students from Airlangga University.
Rahina said the event at Ho Chi Minh City was joined by 100 students from universities around the world, including Japan, China, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam.
“During the ISSF participants discussed issues related to student activities,” he said on Monday (18/4) at the Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM.
ISSF 2016 raised the theme Student Integration, bringing up four main topics of discussion, which include student creativity, scientific research, volunteer activity, student start-up business as well as climate change and environment protection.
“Participants were also given a chance to visit several universities and historical tourism destinations in Ho Chi Minh City,” Rahina added.
Rahina said he gained plenty of experience and insight after the event, especially related to student perspective from ASEAN+3. With different backgrounds, they can contribute ideas to the issues being discussed. “In addition, information exchange related to cultures through this event really helps form student integration,” he concluded.
