UGM Taekwondo Team Earns 7 Medals in Jakarta Governor Cup

The UGM  taekwondo team brought home 7 medals in the taekwondo competition to earn the Jakarta Governor Cup, running from 16-17 April 2016 in Jakarta. The UGM team earned 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals.

UGM Student Affairs Director, Dr. Senawi, said UGM sent 4 male athletes and 4 female athletes for 2 categories: Kyourugi (fight) and Poomsae (art).

"We’re proud that the UGM taekwondo team brought home many medals. We hope in the future there will be more achievements to be made in various competitions,” he expressed his hope on Friday (3/6) on campus.

The gold medals were won by Pulung Panji Anom P (Animal Sciences) in men’s Kyourugi U-68 class, Firdian Ikhwansyah (Geography) in men’s Kyourugi U-63 class, and Ananta Raid Fadhilla (Vocational School) in men’s single Poomsae class. Then, Luthfiasari Sekar Fatimah (Psychology) in women’s Kyourugi U-62 class and Shinta Dewi Merdikawati (Vocational School) in women’s Kyourugi U-57 class.

The silver medals were won by Fahrur Rozak Al Firdaus (Animal Sciences) in men’s Kyourugi U-58 class and Mahardhika Sekar Pramudita (Economics and Business) in women’s Kyourugi U-49 class.
