Commemorating the 71st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the Alumni of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Kagama) with the Association of State Universities of Indonesia (Perhimpuni) launched a book, talk shows and remarks themed “Real Work for the Nation”. The launching was held in the Auditorium (H Building) of Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Jl. Pattimura No. 20 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Sunday (28/8) night.
A number of ministers and the chairman of the Association of State Universities of Indonesia were present in this event. Meanwhile, the “Real Work for the Nation” speech was delivered by the Chairman of Kagama, Ganjar Pranowo.
For Ganjar Pranowo, independence day is a moment to strengthen the unity and synergies of this country while emphasizing the commitment to give real work for this nation. Working to become winning nation, Kagama as one of the members of the Association of State Universities in Indonesia, admitted that it could not be done by themselves. However, Indonesia consists of the work of its every citizen. Indonesia is built by unity and raised by its people.
“Therefore, Kagama invites all alumni of any university with any professions, to continue to work, to continue to excel as a nation to make Indonesia as a winning nation,” said Ganjar.
Special Book Launch “From Bulaksumur For Indonesia”
Ganjar Pranowo launched the book “From Bulaksumur For Indonesia” which contains a collection of thoughts of Gadjah Mada’s academic community and alumni related to the development of Indonesia. The book is composed of points of “Teras Kita” monthly discussion which was held by PP Kagama, Kompas daily and Radio Sonora. This book discusses topics or issues that are not only actual, but also strategic. It is published as a follow up to the request from President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, when opening the National Congress of Kagama in Kendari on November 6th, 2014. A copy of the book was submitted to the President in April 2016 as a strategic input for the policymaking process.
Talkshow Nations Children Inspiration
Meanwhile, the talk show themed “Inspiration of the Youth” was held, presenting Nur Agis Aulia (independent farmer), Kartamali (Online Village’s Chairman) and IPB students team, (Gucakusi Innovation) were present as speakers. The speakers and their diverse backgrounds are expected to inspire the youth.
With these efforts, the nation is expected to always have an optimistic attitude in achieving progress. Various real work shown by the speakers are expected to convince that Indonesia has many innovations, works and achievements.
A number of ministers were amazed by the variety of the work. Those who attended the event were the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Basuki Hadimulyono, State Secretary, Pratikno, Chief of Staff of the President’s Office, Teten Masduki, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartato, Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, M Fachir, and Vice-Minister of Finance, Mardiasmo. Also present were the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council, Sri Adiningsih, Vice-Chairman of the CPC, Sapto Amal, as well as the chairman of Universities Association such as Djarot Saiful Hidayat, the Presidium of the IKA Universitas Brawijaya and Vice-Governor of Jakarta, Maryono, Chairman of IKA UNDIP who is also Managing Director of BTN, and many others.
