Faculty of Pharmacy UGM inaugurated as many as 159 new pharmacists (150 graduating cum laude), which makes the total of 6,762 since year 1946.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof Subagus Wahyuono, said as many as 141 female pharmacists were inaugurated this time as compared to male, which is only 18. “In terms of number, the female domination is apparent here since the establishment of this Faculty, each year the average of male attendance is only 20%,” said Subagus, delivering inaugural remarks at the Koesnadi Hardjasoemantri Cultural Centre (PKKH) UGM on Tuesday (20/9).
To the graduates, Subagus reminded them that they had been trained well academically and they are expected to adjust well socially. At the work market, they need to be responsible whilst upholding the oath of pharmacists they pledged during inauguration.
The Dean further asked the graduates to always be ready for society and the state and communicate with their professional association. “With this professional association, we can remind, help, and protect each other against things deviating from the pharmacist’ oath that we have taken,” he said.
