Alumni of Gadjah Mada Volleyball Club (AVOGAMA) organises a reunion with the theme “Tego Smese Ra Tego Eseme”, inviting members from years 1970-2012. The event includes watching the finals of Gama Cup 2016 competitions, Fun Game, Workshop and Gala Dinner, all organised at the Gelanggang Mahasiswa UGM Hall from 28-29 October 2016.
This year the Gama Cup 2016 is joined by universities from Indonesia to last from 22-28 October at Gelanggang. Universitas Negeri Surabaya won the first award in men’s and women’s categories, followed by Universitas Sebelas Maret, also in both categories.
This was followed with volleyball matches between UGM staff and lecturers, and workshops entitled Role of Alumni in Developing UGM Volleyball Club. A member of AVOGAMA, Arudji Wahyono, said the volley ball unit has to be a role model with a clear vision and mission. Arudji added with the clear vision and mission, this could sharpen their softskills and intelligence.
In the closing ceremony, UGM Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Alumni, Dr. Paripurna, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M., installed the new board of AVOGAMA 2016-2018. Paripurna expected the volleyball unit can be the forum for students to develop themselves and make achievements for UGM. “Hopefully, this event would build a synergy between the alumni, UGM and the volleyball unit so that a better club can be formed and make achievements,” said Paripurna.
