Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Pharmacy UGM signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Faculty of Science, Universiteit Leiden, Hollands, on Thursday (3/11) in the office of Board of Professors UGM. The MoA contains agreement related to PhD programme between the three parties.
The MoA signing was done by the deans of the three faculties and witnessed by UGM Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Alumni, Dr. Paripurna, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M.
Dean of Faculty of Science Universiteit Leiden, Prof. Geert de Snoo, said the MoA was a follow-up to the MoU already signed a few months back. He hoped the MoA would encourage realisation of the stated commitment.
This was responded positively by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Si., Apt., who said that the MoA was a start to a cooperation that will soon be realised.
“This is a good momentum for us to realise the cooperation with Universiteit Leiden as stated in the MoA,” he said.
Dean of Faculty of Biology, Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono, M.Agr.Sc., also saw the good prospects that are offered by the MoA for the involved faculties.
“We’re happy with the cooperation as it can facilitate a Joint Publication that will benefit both parties. This will certainly encourage the increase in research publication of international quality at Faculty of Biology,” he added.
After the signing, Prof. Geert de Snoo and 5 delegates from Faculty of Science Universiteit Leiden visited Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to discuss the implementation of the agreement in detail.
Prof. Geert de Snoo, ecology lecturer, and Prof dr. Hubertus Irth, Scientific Director at Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, also gave a guest lecture at both faculties.
