Faculty of Medicine UGM has just conducted an Open House International Undergraduate Programme (IUP) recently. It was welcomed enthusiastically by the general public, especially high school students. As many as 120 students from Semarang, Jakarta, Malang, Madiun, Salatiga, Surakarta, and Surabaya joined the open house.
The students had the opportunity to see exhibitions and receive information on courses at Faculty of Medicine, especially the mechanism for admission for international programme. Some parents of the students were interested to know more on this.
Furthermore, the students were invited to see for themselves the facilities at the Faculty such as Anthropology laboratory, Anatomy Laboratory, and Mini Hospital. They can see the various anatomical preparates of skeletons to human organs. The students were also enthusiastic to see the Mini Hospital which is used for learning by Nursing students.
The Open House was responded positively by the students and parents. Tommy Yudistira from Jakarta specially came to the Open House with his children. Through this event he got to know the credibility of IUP of Faculty of Medicine UGM. “The explanation that is given to us is very clear related to the vision and mission of the programme of Faculty of Medicine UGM,” he said.
Another parent, Meredith Sophia Anne, with the Open House high school students that want to study medical sciences would get accurate information up from admission to courses.
A student, Azyumar Luthfi Muhammad Alfariz, appreciated the event where they can learn more about Faculty of Medicine UGM in detail. Azyumar is getting more motivated to study medical sciences following the Open House.
“Not only do I have more spirit, I have to try and learn hard in order to get accepted at Faculty of Medicine UGM,” said the student of Kesatuan Bangsa Yogyakarta high school.
