Centre for Demography and Policy of Universitas Gadjah Mada has officiated Agus Dwiyanto’s Corner at the Centre’s Auditorium and Library to commemorate the late Prof. Dr. Agus Dwiyanto that led the Centre for two periods between 1995-2003. The event went with the placement of a plaque carrying the name, followed by a video screening at the Centre’s Library recently.
There are at least 200 books collected by Agus Dwiyanto on issues such as demography, fertility, migration, urbanisation, governance and public policy, that are displayed in this venue. “This collection of books may inspire us – the next generation – to keep learning and broadening our knowledge,” said Head of the Centre, Dr. Agus Heruanto Hadna, on Tuesday (9/5).
Hadna said, during his life Agus Dwiyanto was a role mode for researchers, assistant researchers,as well as staff. He had high productivity in writing, even when he was sick, he kept sharing his intellectual experience by writing. His last works include Leading Change in Government Bureaucracy and Contextual Bureaucracy Reforms.
Attending the event was Bekti Supratiwi, the wife of Agus Dwiyanto. She appreciated the acknowledgement made by the Centre of her late husband.
