UGM Directorate of Community Service has moved to a new office at the Bulaksumur G-7 of the university compound. Inauguration of the new office was done by Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., on Friday (9/6).
Vice-Rector of Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Suratman, M.Sc, said the new office was more strategic so that communication between students and field supervisors would be more intense.
“The location is strategic, close to the Directorate of Education and Teaching, so this is good to implement the university’s mission for education, research, and community service.” said Suratman.
According to Suratman, it took 1.5 years to build the new office, spending some 1.5 billion. It has 14 rooms, meeting room, training room, archives, warehouse and mosque.
Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, appreciated the new building, hoping that with the new office, innovation and output through student community service can expand.
“Hopefully, the student community service innovations can progress and flourish so they will benefit the nation more,” said Panut.
After the inauguration ceremony, the Rector and invited guests came to see the new offices.
