Faculty of Biology UGM never stops to make innovation. Despite its title as the best Biology Department in Indonesia according to QS World Rank 2017 version, it continues to improve its quality to be the axis of biology development at the national and international forefront.
Whilst applying for International accreditation, ASIIN, after earning previous ASEAN University Network (AUN) accreditation in 2011, the Faculty spreads its wing by forming a collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) Malaysia.

Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono M. Agr. Sc., made a visit to UHTM from 9-12 July 2017. Along with Vice-Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Rina Sri Kasiamdari, M.Sc., and Vice-Dean for Research and Cooperation, Dr. Eko Agus Suyono, M. App.Sc.

They were welcomed by Dean of Faculty of Science, Technology and Human Development of UTHM, Prof. Madya. Dr. Mohd. Kamarulzaki Bin Mustafa.

"in that visit we discussed plans for cooperation that will soon implemented,” said the Dean in a release sent out on Wednesday (12/7).

The cooperation comprises student and lecturer exchange, research collaboration in tropical biology, joint publication, and enhancement of international journal index as well as book translation. It all involves not only lecturers but also students from both undergraduate and graduate programmes.

“The effort to enhance and improve academic, research and publication cooperation is expected to be able to strengthen the position and potential especially in Tropical Biology in Asean and international community," he said.
