“We will explain some aspects to the international students and we will ask them to join us on a campus tour,” said Dean of the Faculty, Ir. Muhammad Waziz Wildan, M.Sc., Ph.D.
The ASEAN students consist of 2 students from Vietnam, 8 Cambodia, 4 Laos, and 4 Myanmar, while the other three on apprenticeship are from the U.S.A and France.
Waziz told the international students that their lecturers at the Faculty would be ready to assist them should they find difficulties whilst adjusting to the new condition, especially in terms of academic affairs.
“You will meet many new things, including academic matters that may differ slightly from the ones at home. You are all welcomed to discuss these with our heads of department or lecturers and we can make necessary adjustments when we have international students,” he said.
He also encouraged these students to be able to explore and adapt to the different cultures whilst focusing on their studies responsibilities.
“I hope you all enjoy living in Jogja, and don’t forget to make study plans since the start so that you may graduate in time,” Waziz said.
