Traditional Clothes Color 72nd Independence Day Celebration at UGM

Baju Adat Warnai Peringatan HUT RI ke-72 di UGM

The ceremony to celebrate the 72nd Indonesia’s Independence Day at UGM was marked by the Indonesian traditional costumes show. The ceremony was held at Balairung UGM on Thursday (17/8) and it was attended by UGM academic community.

Hundreds of UGM academic community wore Indonesian traditional clothes from Sabang in the West to Merauke in the East. They participated in the ceremony which was directly led by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng.

This year, the Rector delivered a speech from the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. Corresponding to the main theme of Indonesia’s Independence Day Celebration 2017 which is Indonesia Works Together, Sultan delivered the importance of building national unity by working together in his speech.

At the end of the ceremony, the Rector released Bimasakti Formula Car Team that will join a competition entitled Student Formula SAE 2017 which will be held in September in Shizuoka, Japan.
