UGM holding company, PT Gamatechno Indonesia, is entrusted by the Foreign Affairs Ministry to be their partner for developing applications that will give convenience to Indonesian citizens travelling abroad.

The Safe Travel application has been demonstrated to President Joko Widodo alongside the opening of meeting between Indonesian envoys at the Pancasila hall of the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Monday (12/2). The app is ready for launch this month.

"It’s good. Now everything has to be quick, so emergency matters can be resolved quickly,” President Joko Widodo was quoted as saying after the demonstration.

The app adds to the list of products of excellence by Gamatechno that has been used massively by partners. Previously, Gamatechno developed back-end and front-end applications for the segmentation of higher learning institutions, government agencies, operators of transportation and logistics as well as industry.

Safe Travel is an app for Indonesian nationals that will travel abroad. The Indonesian nationals will get notification on appeal, suggestion, and advisory related to the destination country by registering their travels through the apps. The app also has emergency features to safeguard the Indonesian travellers.

“Safe Travel is also equipped with emergency features that can send their locations data, video recording, and make calls to the nearest Indonesian Embassy,” said Taufik Suryawan Edyna, Manager of Government Solution of PT Gamatechno Indonesia.

PT Gamatechno Indonesia that is situated in Yogyakarta is an IT company focusing on the development of services of Smart City Solution. Once it is released, the app will be available for downloads by users through Android or IOS. It is also accessible through the official page of safetravel.id. With the Safe Travel app, Indonesian travellers can make their travel safely and conveniently whilst getting extra protection.
