
Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Trisakti have established cooperation on Thursday (15/4) in the UGM conference room related to education, research, and community service. It was done by Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng, D.Eng., and acting Rector of Universitas Trisakti, Prof.dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Panut Mulyono appreciated the cooperation, expressing his enthusiasm that currently both parties were not competing but instead forming synergy.
According to Panut Mulyono, it was important for both universities to explore each other’s excellence to learn from and enhance each other.
“Many problems can be resolved through synergy. Together we enhance each other by having cooperation for mutual advancement,” he said. He added the synergy could become the force to make more contribution to the society and nation.
Acting Rector Ali Ghufron Mukti said the cooperation between the two parties aimed to build the society and the nation, hence a number of areas in the cooperation could be followed up, such as health security, drug research, health tools, oil mining, student community service, etc.
“We hope Trisakti and UGM could develop a module for online distance learning programme and cooperation in other areas to deal with the industrial revolution 4.0,” he said.
According to Ghufron, this cooperation was very important for Universitas Trisakti. Universitas Trisakti is known as the university of the reforms. The name of the university was even given by President Soekarno.
“We establish cooperation not just with foreign universities, but also domestic universities. We hope this would get strengthened in the future,” he said.
